Please read these terms carefully before using the website or making a booking.

2. Our Community Pharmacy Status

Whitemoss Pharmacy is a bricks-and-mortar community pharmacy operating from our registered pharmacy premises in Blackley, Manchester.

We are not an NHS distance selling pharmacy (DSP) or online-only pharmacy. Patients can visit our registered pharmacy premises and access appropriate pharmacy services in person.

Our website is used to provide information, allow patients to contact us, support appointment booking and signpost patients to services such as the NHS App.

Where we offer prescription delivery, this is an additional local service provided from our registered community pharmacy. It does not change our status into a distance selling pharmacy and should not be interpreted as a nationwide mail-order or online-only pharmacy service.

3. Use of This Website

This website is provided to:

  • Provide information about Whitemoss Pharmacy
  • Provide information about NHS and private pharmacy services
  • Allow patients to make enquiries
  • Provide online appointment booking where available
  • Provide information about prescriptions and the NHS App
  • Signpost users to appropriate NHS, government and travel health resources

When using our website, you must:

  • Use it lawfully
  • Provide accurate information where you submit forms or booking requests
  • Not knowingly submit false or misleading information
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, server or associated systems
  • Not introduce malware, viruses or other harmful material
  • Not use the website in a way that could damage, disrupt or impair its operation

We may suspend, restrict or update parts of the website where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance or service changes.

4. Medical and Healthcare Information

Health information provided on this website is intended for general information and guidance only.

It should not be used as a substitute for an individual clinical assessment, diagnosis or advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Medical suitability, treatment recommendations and eligibility for individual pharmacy services are determined following an appropriate clinical assessment.

If you have concerns about your health, speak to a pharmacist, GP or other appropriate healthcare professional.

This website is not an emergency medical service.

If you or somebody else is seriously ill or experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, call 999. For urgent medical advice where it is not a life-threatening emergency, you may be able to use NHS 111.

5. NHS Services

Whitemoss Pharmacy provides a range of NHS pharmacy services subject to applicable NHS arrangements, service specifications, eligibility requirements and clinical criteria.

Availability of a particular NHS service may depend on factors including:

  • Current NHS commissioning arrangements
  • Patient eligibility
  • Clinical suitability
  • Availability of an appropriately trained member of the pharmacy team
  • Medicine or vaccine availability
  • Current national or local NHS guidance

An online booking does not guarantee that you are clinically suitable or eligible for an NHS service.

Our pharmacy team will carry out any necessary checks before providing the service.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions reduces or replaces your rights as an NHS patient.

6. NHS App and Electronic Prescriptions

The NHS App and NHS website are operated by the NHS and are separate from Whitemoss Pharmacy’s website.

Where available, you can use the NHS App to perform functions such as:

  • Request eligible repeat prescriptions
  • View prescription information
  • Choose or change the pharmacy that receives your electronic prescriptions
  • Access other NHS services available to your account

Use of the NHS App is subject to the NHS’s own terms, privacy arrangements and eligibility requirements.

Whitemoss Pharmacy does not control your NHS App account and will never ask you to provide your NHS login password or security codes.

If you choose Whitemoss Pharmacy to receive your electronic prescriptions, eligible prescriptions issued through the NHS Electronic Prescription Service may be sent to our pharmacy for dispensing.

7. Appointment Bookings

Some NHS and private services can be booked through our website using our appointment booking system.

When making a booking, you agree to provide information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.

A booking reserves an appointment time but does not guarantee that a treatment, medicine, vaccination or clinical service will be supplied.

Before providing a clinical service, we may need to confirm:

  • Your identity
  • Your age
  • Your NHS eligibility where applicable
  • Your medical history
  • Current medicines or treatments
  • Allergies
  • Previous reactions
  • Other information relevant to clinical suitability

We may need to cancel, postpone or rearrange an appointment for reasons including:

  • Clinical suitability
  • Unexpected staff absence
  • Medicine or vaccine availability
  • Equipment or technical problems
  • Changes to NHS service requirements
  • Other circumstances that reasonably prevent us from providing the service safely

Where reasonably possible, we will contact you and offer an alternative arrangement.

8. Booking for Another Person

You may be able to make an appointment on behalf of another person where appropriate.

If you do so, you must have appropriate authority to provide their information and make the booking.

For services involving children or young people, appropriate parental responsibility, consent and clinical requirements will be considered before the service is provided.

A booking made by a parent, carer or representative does not replace any consent process required at the appointment.

9. Clinical Suitability

Patient safety comes first.

Our pharmacists and other appropriately trained members of the pharmacy team may decide that a particular service, medicine, vaccination or treatment is not suitable for you.

This may happen where, for example:

  • You do not meet the relevant clinical criteria
  • You do not meet NHS eligibility requirements
  • A medicine or vaccination is contraindicated
  • Relevant medical information cannot be established
  • Providing the service would not be clinically appropriate
  • A referral to another healthcare professional would be safer or more appropriate

Where we cannot safely provide a requested clinical service, we will explain the reason where appropriate and advise you about suitable next steps.

10. Prescription Services

Whitemoss Pharmacy can dispense NHS and private prescriptions that we are legally and professionally able to dispense.

Before supplying prescription medicines, we may need to verify the prescription, prescriber, patient details or other relevant information.

Supply may be delayed or may not be possible where:

  • The prescription is not legally valid
  • Further clarification from the prescriber is required
  • There is a clinical or safety concern
  • The prescribed medicine is unavailable
  • Additional legal requirements apply to the medicine
  • There is another professional or legal reason preventing supply

Where appropriate, our pharmacy team will explain the issue and the available next steps.

11. Local Prescription Delivery

Whitemoss Pharmacy may provide local prescription delivery to eligible patients within our service area.

Our prescription delivery service is an additional service operated from our registered pharmacy premises and is not a nationwide distance selling pharmacy service.

Delivery availability may depend on:

  • Your location
  • Your individual circumstances
  • The type of medicine being supplied
  • Our local delivery routes and capacity
  • Whether an appropriate handover can be arranged

Some medicines may require a direct handover, signature or other additional arrangements and may not be suitable for unattended delivery.

Choosing Whitemoss Pharmacy as your pharmacy through the NHS App does not automatically register you for prescription delivery.

If you require delivery, please contact our pharmacy team so that we can discuss whether the service is available to you.

12. NHS Prescription Charges

NHS prescription charges may apply to NHS medicines unless you are exempt from paying them.

NHS prescription charges and exemption rules are set nationally and are separate from any delivery arrangements offered by Whitemoss Pharmacy.

A free prescription delivery service does not mean that the medicines themselves are necessarily free of NHS prescription charges.

It is your responsibility to make an accurate exemption declaration where one is required.

13. Private Services, Prices and Payments

Some services provided by Whitemoss Pharmacy are private services and require payment.

Examples may include certain:

  • Travel vaccinations
  • Private flu vaccinations
  • Private COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Travel health treatments
  • Other private healthcare services

Where a fee applies, the relevant price will be displayed, communicated or confirmed before the service is provided.

Prices may occasionally change due to factors such as supplier costs or changes to the service offered. Any applicable price will be made clear before you proceed with a chargeable service.

If the service you require changes following clinical assessment, we will explain any resulting change in cost before proceeding.

14. Cancellations, Missed Appointments and Refunds

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please cancel or rearrange it as early as reasonably possible so that the appointment can be offered to another patient.

Any specific cancellation, deposit, prepayment or refund conditions applying to a private service will be communicated where applicable before you make the relevant payment or booking.

We will not impose cancellation charges or retain payments in a way that removes or unfairly restricts rights you have under applicable consumer law.

If Whitemoss Pharmacy cancels a prepaid private service and cannot provide a suitable alternative, any payment for the service that cannot be provided will be dealt with appropriately, including a refund where required.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.

15. Website Information and Availability

We take reasonable care to keep information on our website accurate, clear and up to date.

However, pharmacy and healthcare information can change, including:

  • NHS eligibility criteria
  • Vaccination programmes
  • Medicine availability
  • Prices
  • Opening hours
  • Service availability
  • Clinical and public health guidance

Where current eligibility, pricing or clinical information is particularly important, please confirm the details with our pharmacy team or the relevant NHS or healthcare authority.

We do not guarantee that the website will always be available without interruption. From time to time it may be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, security work or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

16. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website contains links to websites and services operated by other organisations.

These can include:

  • NHS websites and the NHS App
  • Government websites
  • Travel health information services
  • North Manchester Travel Clinic resources
  • Mapping and location services
  • Other healthcare information websites

Links are provided where we believe they may be useful, but external websites are operated independently from Whitemoss Pharmacy.

When you leave our website, the external organisation’s own terms, privacy policy and cookie arrangements will apply.

We are not responsible for changes made to third-party websites or for content outside our reasonable control.

17. Intellectual Property

Unless stated otherwise, website content including text, graphics, branding, logos, photographs and other materials is owned by Whitemoss Pharmacy, Active Pharmacare Ltd or used under an appropriate licence.

You may view and use the website for your own personal and non-commercial purposes.

You must not, without appropriate permission:

  • Republish substantial parts of our website
  • Copy our content for commercial use
  • Use Whitemoss Pharmacy branding or logos in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation
  • Modify or reproduce copyrighted materials in a way that infringes the rights of the owner

Nothing in these terms prevents uses that are permitted by law.

18. Our Responsibility to You

We are responsible for providing our services with the level of care and skill required by applicable law and professional standards.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

In particular, nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • A failure to provide services with the reasonable care and skill required by law
  • Any liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted
  • Your statutory rights as a consumer

We are not responsible for loss or damage that results solely from circumstances outside our reasonable control and which was not caused by a breach of our duties to you.

We are also not responsible for the operation of external websites, apps or systems controlled by third parties, although this does not affect any responsibility we may have for the services that Whitemoss Pharmacy itself provides.

19. Your Consumer Rights

If you purchase a private service from Whitemoss Pharmacy as a consumer, you have rights under UK consumer law.

These can include the right for services to be provided:

  • With reasonable care and skill
  • Within a reasonable time where no specific time has been agreed
  • For a reasonable price where the price has not been agreed in advance

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove, limit or replace rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Data Protection and Confidentiality

Whitemoss Pharmacy takes patient confidentiality and data protection seriously.

Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, as amended, together with relevant professional and NHS information governance requirements where applicable.

Information may be processed for purposes including:

  • Responding to enquiries
  • Managing appointments
  • Providing pharmacy and clinical services
  • Dispensing prescriptions
  • Maintaining appropriate healthcare records
  • Communicating with relevant healthcare professionals where necessary
  • Meeting legal, regulatory and professional obligations

For more information, please read our Privacy Policy.

Information about technologies used on our website is available in our Cookies Policy.

21. Complaints and Feedback

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example because:

  • Our website or services change
  • Legal or regulatory requirements change
  • NHS arrangements change
  • We need to clarify or improve the terms

The latest version will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date will be changed accordingly.

Changes will generally apply to use of the website and bookings made after the updated terms take effect. We will not use an updated version simply to remove rights that already apply to an existing consumer contract.

23. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are using our services as a consumer, nothing in this section removes any mandatory legal rights or protections that apply to you.
